COURSE DESCRIPTION
Originally presented in 2022, this three-video series, led by Veterinary Behaviorist, Dr. Amy Pike, will help us understand the cues our patients are giving us through their body language and behavior. Through videos and discussion, we’ll learn to differentiate medical, environmental, and psychological causes of unwanted behaviors.
In session one, we’ll learn “the six M’s” of behavior care. Through addressing each “M” systematically, avoid overlooking or misdiagnosing the problem.
In session two, hear communication strategies to help clients understand why referral to a veterinary behaviorist is important. Communication examples will be provided. Also review the SOCRATES method of history taking and learn how to apply it to behavior care.
In session three, review all the nutraceutical and pharmaceutical therapeutic options available for treatment of behavioral disorders. Understand the mechanisms of action, indications for use, risks, drug interactions, and indications of efficacy.
Upon viewing each video and passing a quiz with a score of 70% or better, you’ll earn 3 hours of RACE Approved CE.
